05 February 2020There is a rush to venerate a stay in a psychiatric ward. A stay in a hospital ward of any description isn’t going to be on the list of top destinations for anyone and a psych ward, no matter how pleasant the staff try to make it, is often down the bottom of the list.
Inpatient admission for anything other than a short time of assessment for the first onset of a condition should always be regarded as a failure of care. Admission, in my opinion, is the last resort.
